October 14, 2026 — Finnair has raised its full-year 2026 forecast for revenue and profit, saying demand has been stronger than it expected. It also gave preliminary third-quarter figures that are well ahead of last year.
What happened
The Helsinki-based airline issued a positive profit warning on October 13, 2026.
| Measure | Previous guidance (July 22) | New guidance |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 revenue | EUR 3.4–3.5 billion | EUR 3.5–3.6 billion |
| 2026 comparable operating result | EUR 120–190 million | EUR 175–220 million |
Preliminary, unaudited third-quarter figures: revenue of about EUR 953 million (EUR 834.9 million in the comparison period) and a comparable operating result of about EUR 84 million (EUR 50.7 million). Finnair said it had partly passed higher fuel costs on to fares. It warned that fuel prices make it hard to hedge more of its 2027 fuel. The full January–September report is due October 27, 2026. Guidance for 2027 will come with the full-year results (date TBA).
What it means for non-revs
- Strong demand means fuller flights. Finnair’s better results come from passenger demand that beat its own expectations, so expect tighter loads through Helsinki, particularly on popular long-haul flights.
- No capacity cuts announced. The update doesn’t mention schedule changes. More detail on capacity may come with the October 27 report.
