What it means for non-revs
- Nothing changes for now. Deliveries don’t start until JAL’s 2029 financial year, so today’s J-AIR E170/E190 flights continue as they are.
- Possible extra seats later. The seat count hasn’t been announced. If the E2s are set up with more seats than the aircraft they replace, regional flights out of Itami could get a little easier to clear. That will only be known once JAL publishes the layout.
- If you travel on JAL through interline/ZED agreements, J-AIR flights from Itami reach many smaller Japanese cities, and this order renews the aircraft that fly them.
