October 18, 2026 — Update: Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis is now open. The 142-room hotel in the former Last Hotel building on Washington Avenue reopened on October 15 after a roughly $4 million renovation, bringing the property back into World of Hyatt.

What is happening

Earlier reports said the hotel was scheduled to open on October 15. An October 17 roundup from Upgraded Points confirms that it reopened that day, which is the new development. Rates were listed from $135 a night or 8,000 World of Hyatt points.

The building dates to 1909 and was built for the International Shoe Co. It opened as The Last Hotel in 2019 and joined Hyatt’s Unbound Collection in June 2020, but it left Hyatt in May 2021, when existing award reservations were not honored. The hotel closed abruptly in March 2025 while in receivership. Investors linked to Georgia-based Singh Investment Group bought it in March 2026 for $14 million.

What guests will find

  • The Link restaurant, The Link Bar and Provisions; the restaurant is named for Theodore Link, architect of the original building.
  • Expedition Rooftop, a seasonal rooftop pool and bar.
  • About 11,750 sq ft of meeting and event space across 10 venues; the Peters and Rand ballrooms combine for up to 250 guests.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Points are back: The hotel is a World of Hyatt property again, so stays earn and redeem points. That was not the case for most of its life as The Last Hotel.
  • Just reopened: The hotel opened days ago, so expect some early wrinkles while new staff and outlets settle in.
  • Rooftop is seasonal: Do not count on the rooftop pool for a late-fall or winter stay without checking with the hotel.
  • Getting there: St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) serves the city. The hotel is downtown on Washington Avenue.
  • Rates: None of the sources mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
