What it means for airline travelers
- Airport: La Paz International Airport (LAP). The only U.S. nonstop currently listed for LAP is Alaska Airlines from Los Angeles; most other access is via Mexican hubs such as Tijuana, Guadalajara and Mexico City on Volaris, Viva and Aeroméxico.
- With limited U.S. nonstop service, standby travelers should have a backup plan, such as connecting through a Mexican hub or flying into Los Cabos and driving up the peninsula.
- Because this is a reopening of an established building, there should be no construction disruption, though newly reopened hotels can still have early service gaps.
- Hilton’s announcement does not mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
