Sunday, October 25, 2026

It was a quiet weekend for network planners: we found no new route announcements published in the past 24 hours. The day’s route news came from the Middle East, where the security situation around Saudi Arabia kept Indian carriers grounded on key Gulf routes. On October 24, Air India and Air India Express pushed their Riyadh and Dammam suspension out to November 7, and IndiGo extended its pause on all four of its Saudi destinations to October 31.

New Routes

No new routes qualified for today’s roundup. Our checks of AeroRoutes, Aviation Week / Routes, AirlineGeeks, Simple Flying and the main airline newsrooms turned up nothing announced in the last 24 hours. Recent announcements such as United’s new San Francisco service from Hartford and Charleston (October 23) and Air Serbia’s Belgrade–Miami route (announced around October 20) came before today’s window, so they are not listed here.

Routes Being Discontinued

Both items below are temporary suspensions, not permanent exits. They follow regional security disruption that has affected Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. Neither airline has said which Indian origin cities are affected, so those are marked TBA.

Air India and Air India Express: Riyadh and Dammam through November 7; Jeddah through October 31

  • Airline: Air India and Air India Express (joint advisory)
  • Route: India (origin cities TBA) to and from Riyadh (RUH) and Dammam (DMM); India (origin cities TBA) to and from Jeddah (JED)
  • Last day / effective: Riyadh and Dammam suspended through November 7, 2026. Jeddah suspended through October 31, 2026. Date service resumes: TBA.

The two carriers posted the update on X on October 24. Passengers holding tickets issued on or before October 24 can cancel for a full refund or rebook once at no charge. Riyadh and Dammam travelers can move to dates up to November 21, and Jeddah travelers to dates up to November 14. Air India Express is also offering wider rerouting options through Saudi Arabia or Bahrain.

IndiGo: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah through October 31

  • Airline: IndiGo
  • Route: India (origin cities TBA) to and from Riyadh (RUH), Jeddah (JED), Dammam (DMM) and Madinah (MED)
  • Last day / effective: All four cities cancelled through October 31, 2026. Date service resumes: TBA.

IndiGo put out a revised advisory on October 24. Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah had previously been cancelled only through October 27; they now match the October 31 date already in place for Riyadh.

Airline Route Last Day / Effective
Air India / Air India Express India (TBA) – Riyadh (RUH), Dammam (DMM) Suspended through Nov 7, 2026
Air India / Air India Express India (TBA) – Jeddah (JED) Suspended through Oct 31, 2026
IndiGo India (TBA) – Riyadh (RUH), Jeddah (JED), Dammam (DMM), Madinah (MED) Cancelled through Oct 31, 2026
