October 26, 2026 — easyJet, which today offers no inflight connectivity at all, will fit Starlink satellite Wi-Fi across its Airbus A320-family fleet, with the first installations planned for the first half of 2027.

What happened

easyJet has announced a deal with SpaceX’s Starlink, reported on October 26. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Item Detail
Aircraft Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo
Not included More than 80 A319s, due to retire by 2029
First installations First half of 2027
Installation complete Early 2028, with all active aircraft equipped in 2029, per One Mile at a Time
Price to passengers TBA (easyJet has not said whether it will be free)

easyJet says the service will support browsing, streaming, messaging and online gaming, along with flight information, destination guides and possibly ordering food and drink from your own device. Chief executive Kenton Jarvis, who earlier in 2026 questioned the business case for Starlink, said that “staying connected matters more than ever to many of our customers.”

The move puts easyJet alongside United, which is already rolling out Starlink, and British Airways, which has announced it. Ryanair remains unconvinced: Michael O’Leary has argued its passengers will not pay for Wi-Fi on a typical one-hour flight, citing installation cost, weight and fuel burn.

What it means for non-revs

  • Nothing changes yet. No easyJet aircraft will have Wi-Fi before the first half of 2027, so for now plan to download entertainment before you fly.
  • Handy for standby updates later. Once fitted, onboard Wi-Fi should make it easier to check onward loads and message family mid-flight, but whether you will pay for it is still TBA.
  • A319s stay unconnected. Those aircraft are on their way out and will not be fitted, so some flights will remain offline right up to their retirement.
