October 30, 2026 — Update: Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, the brand’s first hotel in Malaysia, is now open. Hilton formally unveiled the all-suite hotel on October 29, and it began taking guests for stays from October 30, 2026. Its opening date had been announced earlier this month; what is new is that the hotel is now open.

What is happening

The hotel has 268 suites, ranging from about 80 square meters to the 745-square-meter Waldorf Astoria Suite. It is at 73 Jalan Raja Chulan in Bukit Bintang, in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, near Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Twin Towers. Interiors are by Deboss Collective, and the art collection was created with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia. It is the second Waldorf Astoria in Southeast Asia, after Bangkok. Hilton’s release sums it up: “The all-suite hotel features 268 expansive suites.”

What it means for airline travelers

  • Airport: Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is the city’s main international gateway. Check current schedules from your gateway.
  • Getting there: the hotel is in the city center, well away from the airport, so check transfer times before you plan a same-day arrival and dinner.

  • New-hotel tip: the first weeks after an opening can include outlets still ramping up, so check what is open before you plan dinners or spa visits.
  • Rates: Hilton’s release did not mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
