WestJet is pulling out of two U.S. leisure markets: it will not bring back its seasonal Vancouver–Kauai flights this winter, and Calgary–Orange County is set to end in late March 2027. On the growth side, Air Transat’s summer 2027 schedule filing adds five new transatlantic routes from Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City, and Qantas has restarted seasonal Adelaide–Auckland service.
New Routes
Air Transat: Montreal (YUL) → Geneva (GVA)
- Starts: June 19, 2027 (seasonal, through October 23, 2027)
- Frequency: 2 times weekly (Tuesday and Saturday)
- Aircraft: Airbus A321LR
Geneva is a brand-new Air Transat destination. The schedule filing shows an evening departure from Montreal arriving in Geneva the next morning.
Air Transat: Montreal (YUL) → Faro (FAO)
- Starts: June 14, 2027 (seasonal, through October 25, 2027)
- Frequency: 1 time weekly (Monday)

A once-weekly summer link to Portugal’s Algarve coast, also flown with the long-range narrowbody.

- Starts: June 22, 2027 (seasonal, through October 22, 2027)
- Frequency: 2 times weekly (Tuesday and Friday)
- Aircraft: TBA
Birmingham is another new destination for the carrier. The aircraft type has not been published.
Air Transat: Quebec City (YQB) → Lyon (LYS)
- Starts: June 8, 2027 (seasonal, through October 26, 2027)
- Frequency: 1 time weekly (Tuesday)

Air Transat: Quebec City (YQB) → Barcelona (BCN)
- Starts: June 14, 2027 (seasonal, through October 25, 2027)
- Frequency: 1 time weekly (Monday)

Air Transat is also keeping two sun routes going year-round instead of winter-only: Montreal–St. Maarten (once weekly in summer, A321neo per AeroRoutes) and Quebec City–Puerto Plata (once weekly in summer). Source note: Economy Class & Beyond lists St. Maarten as a Saturday flight; AeroRoutes lists it for May 1 to September 4, 2027. Air Transat’s own release was not available to confirm, so treat the summer dates as subject to change. Aircraft for the Air Transat routes come from the AeroRoutes schedule filing; Economy Class & Beyond did not name a type.
Qantas: Adelaide (ADL) → Auckland (AKL) (returning)
- Starts: October 30, 2026 (seasonal, through April 26, 2027)
- Frequency: 4 times weekly (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday); 5 times weekly from December 14, 2026 to January 17, 2027 with an added Wednesday flight
- Aircraft: Boeing 737-800
The route is back for a second straight southern summer, with a morning departure from Adelaide and a flight time of about four hours and 15 minutes.
