What it means for airline travelers
- Avoid central Warsaw on the afternoon of November 11, especially Aleje Jerozolimskie, the Poniatowski Bridge, the area around the stadium and Aleje Ujazdowskie. If you are heading to Chopin Airport that afternoon, leave early and avoid routes through the center.
- Expect road closures, parking problems and transit delays. Shops and many services will be closed on the holiday, so plan meals and errands ahead.
- The embassy advises avoiding crowds, keeping a low profile and following local media. In an emergency, call 112; the embassy’s emergency line is +48 22 504 2000.
- Enroll in STEP (U.S. citizens) or Registration of Canadians Abroad.
