November 7, 2026 — Adora Cruises has taken delivery of Adora Flora City, its third ship and the second large cruise ship built in China. The ship will be christened on November 22 in Guangzhou.

The new ship

The ship was handed over on November 6, 2026, at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. It is 341 meters long and 141,900 gross tons, with 2,130 cabins and room for 5,232 guests at full capacity. It joins Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea.

November 7, 2026 Moves to Shanghai Wusongkou; first trial voyage two days later
November 12, 2026 Arrives at new homeport, Guangzhou
November 22, 2026 Christening and maiden voyage: five nights from Guangzhou Nansha to Hong Kong and Chan May, Vietnam. Godmother is Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing.

The first season includes four- and five-night Hong Kong and Vietnam cruises, an eight-night Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei voyage, and a 16-night trip through Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. Nearly 20 Hong Kong cruises are planned for 2027.

Shanghai down to one large ship

A separate November 7 report says Adora Magic City is now the only large cruise ship sailing from Shanghai for the rest of 2026. Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas left for Hong Kong on November 1, and MSC Bellissima made a repositioning call in Tokyo on October 4. The report calls this a normal seasonal shift, not a market exit. Magic City‘s schedule:

  • Four-night Shanghai–Jeju–Busan loops: November 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 and 28
  • Shanghai–Okinawa (Naha)–Jeju loops: December 6, 13, 20 and 27
  • Two-night cruises to nowhere: December 11, 18 and 25
  • Three-night Shanghai–Jeju–Shanghai: December 31

What it means for airline travelers

  • South China is the new hub. Guangzhou (CAN) and Hong Kong (HKG) are the gateway airports for Flora City, and Shanghai is the gateway for Magic City. Check ground transfer time from the airport to the Nansha terminal before choosing flights.
  • Check visa rules first. The new ship adds capacity aimed at Chinese guests. Foreign passport holders should confirm China entry rules and booking eligibility with the line before buying flights.
  • No travel-industry or interline rate was mentioned.
