November 7, 2026 — River cruise line nicko cruises has published its 2027 river program: 22 ships on 81 routes, covering 33 waterways in 21 countries. It includes a new ship in Croatia and new holiday sailings on the Rhine.

What’s new for 2027

Ship Sailing
Victoria Sabrina 14-day Yangtze trip: Shanghai, Zhujiajiao, Xi’an and Beijing
Cyrano de Bergerac 8-day “Bordeaux and Beyond” on the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde, with two hotel nights in Bordeaux afterward
nickoSPIRIT New 9-day round trip from Cologne on the Rhine, Moselle and Saar (Andernach, Cochem, Bernkastel, Remich, Trier, Koblenz)
Liberty (new to the fleet) 38-guest ship (built 2011, refurbished 2024) sailing the Dalmatian Coast from Trogir on 8- or 15-day trips
Rhine Melodie New 6-day Advent cruise, Cologne to Strasbourg and Breisach; new 14-day Christmas and New Year cruise from Cologne via Amsterdam, Strasbourg and Mainz
Douro program New Algarve extension on a 12-day trip (Nazaré, Praia do Norte, Benagil Cave, Cabo de São Vicente)

Exact 2027 departure dates were not in the source (TBA).

What it means for airline travelers

  • Cologne is the main gateway. Several of the new Rhine sailings start in Cologne, so look at flights into Cologne/Bonn (CGN), or Düsseldorf or Frankfurt with a train connection.
  • Holiday sailings mean busy flights. The Christmas and New Year cruise falls during peak holiday travel. Fly in at least a day early, especially if you are flying standby.
  • Croatia: Liberty sails from Trogir, which is close to Split Airport (SPU).
  • No travel-industry or interline rate was mentioned.
