bia’s government formally declared a cholera outbreak on Wednesday, September 30. Cases have been confirmed in seven districts, including the capital, Lusaka.

- Announcement: Acting Health Minister Dr. Gilbert Siame made the declaration.
- Cases: 304 confirmed cases and 11 deaths as of September 29. Eight of those deaths happened outside health facilities.
- When it started: the first case was confirmed on August 13.
- Districts affected: Lusaka, Chilanga, Chongwe, Chibombo, Chiengi, Nsama and Chikankata. These span five provinces.
