October 1, 2026 — MSC World Atlantic, the fourth LNG-powered World Class ship from MSC Cruises, has floated out in France ahead of a November 2027 debut from Port Canaveral.
What happened
MSC World Atlantic floated out at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France on September 26, 2026. Work on interiors, public spaces and final technical systems continues at the yard. Delivery is due in 2027 (exact date TBA).
- Capacity: about 5,400 guests
- Fleet position: 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet
- Public spaces: more than 38,000 square meters, with 40 bars, restaurants and lounges
- Debut: November 2027 (exact date TBA)
- Homeport: Port Canaveral, Florida
- Itineraries: alternating 7-night and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, including MSC’s private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, in the Bahamas
What it means for airline travelers
- Getting to Port Canaveral: Orlando International (MCO) is the main airport. Orlando Melbourne (MLB) is an alternative if MCO standby loads look heavy.
- November is a busy time to fly into Florida. The debut falls in the run-up to the holidays, so nonrev travelers should plan to arrive a day early.
- 14-night options make a longer Caribbean trip possible without international flights, which suits standby travel well.
- Interline and industry fares: No change to travel-industry rates or eligibility has been announced.
