Friday, October 9, 2026 — covering route announcements published October 8–9, 2026.

Air France made the biggest splash of the past day for U.S. readers, confirming two new transatlantic routes for summer 2027: Paris to San Diego and Paris to Nashville, both on the Airbus A350-900. American Airlines is moving its summer Bozeman flight from LaGuardia to New York JFK and growing it to four weekly trips. In Europe, Icelandair is returning to Madrid, TUI Airways is adding three Spanish routes from London Gatwick, and Ryanair says it will pull out of Bremen entirely from April 2027. Several carriers also paused Riyadh flights after Thursday’s security disruption in Saudi Arabia.

TBA means the detail has not been published yet.

Source conflict: One Mile at a Time, working from an earlier schedule filing, lists a May 17 start. The date here follows Air France’s own release.

Air France: Paris (CDG) → Nashville (BNA)

The flight number is a nod to Dolly Parton’s 1946 birth year. With the two additions, Air France says it will serve 20 U.S. destinations in summer 2027. Source conflict: One Mile at a Time shows flight numbers AF38/AF39 from the earlier filing; the airline’s release uses AF046/AF047.

Ryanair: all Bremen (BRE) routes

  • Airline: Ryanair
  • Route: Bremen (BRE) → London Stansted (STN), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Malaga (AGP), Alicante (ALC) and Zadar (ZAD)
  • Last day / effective: Service ends from April 2027; exact last day TBA

Ryanair announced on October 8 that it will leave Bremen at the start of the summer 2027 season, blaming Germany’s aviation tax and airport, security and air navigation charges. The airline puts the loss at about 500,000 seats a year. Bremen Airport officials counter that Ryanair’s fee demands would have meant losing money on every passenger. The five affected routes are named by The Local Germany; Ryanair’s release does not list them.

American Airlines: New York (LGA) → Bozeman (BZN)

  • Airline: American Airlines
  • Route: New York LaGuardia (LGA) → Bozeman (BZN)
  • Last day / effective: TBA

The once-weekly seasonal LaGuardia flight is replaced by the new JFK service in summer 2027 (see New Routes). A final LaGuardia operating date has not been published.

Saudia: Jeddah (JED) → Birmingham (BHX)

  • Airline: Saudia
  • Route: Jeddah (JED) → Birmingham, U.K. (BHX)
  • Last day / effective: Planned resumption on April 1, 2027 has been removed from the schedule

Saudia had filed three weekly Boeing 787-9 flights. AeroRoutes reports the schedule is gone and reservations are closed.

Luxair: Luxembourg (LUX) → Abu Dhabi (AUH)

  • Airline: Luxair
  • Route: Luxembourg (LUX) → Abu Dhabi (AUH)
  • Last day / effective: Never launched; the planned October 26, 2026 start has been cancelled for winter 2026–27

The route was planned as a once-weekly Boeing 737 MAX 8 service. AeroRoutes reported the removal on October 8, noting that Luxair pulled the flights in recent weeks.

Riyadh (RUH): temporary suspensions

  • Airline: Lufthansa Group — Route: group flights to Riyadh (RUH), origin airports TBA — Last day / effective: suspended through October 16, 2026
  • Airline: Air India and Air India Express — Route: all flights to Riyadh (RUH), including Delhi (DEL) → Riyadh — Last day / effective: suspended through October 10, 2026
  • Airline: Akasa Air — Route: all flights to Riyadh (RUH), origin airports TBA — Last day / effective: suspended through October 10, 2026

These are short-term security pauses announced Thursday, October 8, after Yemen’s Houthis claimed a missile attack on Riyadh’s airport. They are not permanent route cuts. IndiGo cancelled Riyadh flights from Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai through Friday, and Emirates and Etihad cancelled Riyadh flights on October 9. Dates are changing quickly, so confirm with the airline before listing for these flights.

Also noted: a delayed resumption

  • Airline: China Eastern — Route: Shanghai Pudong (PVG) → Riyadh (RUH) — Effective: resumption pushed back to January 16, 2027 at the earliest; 5 times weekly on the Airbus A330-200
