October 13, 2026 — Today’s education strike and march in Paris has closed eight metro stations along the route, and the SUD-Rail union, which joined today’s strike, says it is weighing further action on Saturday, October 17.

Tuesday, October 13: Paris metro closures

RATP announced that trains will not stop at these stations while the march runs from Place d’Italie to Place Vauban. Reopening depends on police authorization, and other stations could also close.

From Line Stations closed
10:00 Line 12 Rue du Bac, Solférino, Assemblée nationale
10:00 Line 13 Saint-François-Xavier, Varenne
12:00 Line 1 Louvre-Rivoli
12:00 Line 4 Cité
12:00 Line 7 Pont Neuf

Rail

  • Today: SUD-Rail called rail workers out on October 13 in support of the high-school and education movement. A law-firm briefing citing press reports says TGV, Intercités and Ouigo trains could be disrupted, along with freight. No SNCF figures for cancellations were found as of this report (TBA).
  • Saturday, October 17: SUD-Rail says it is considering further action; no strike notice details have been published (TBA).
  • Still in place: Paris tram lines T11 (heavily disrupted) and T14 (interrupted) are affected by a labor dispute until October 16.

What it means for airline travelers

  • If you are in central Paris today, use stations away from the Left Bank march route and allow extra time to get to CDG or Orly.
  • Booked on a TGV, Intercités or Ouigo train today? Check SNCF Connect before you leave and be ready to take an earlier or later train.
  • Planning a rail connection on Saturday, October 17? Check SNCF Connect from Thursday in case SUD-Rail files a notice.
