October 24, 2026 — Sandals Resorts is giving 15 of its Caribbean all-inclusives new names that lead with the island or country. Fourteen Sandals resorts and Beaches Negril are affected. The company says the resorts themselves are not changing.
What is happening
Gary Sadler, executive vice president of sales and industry relations at Unique Vacations Inc. (the Sandals sales and marketing company), announced the new names on social media. Travelweek and TravelPulse reported the full list on October 22–23. The new names make it clear where each resort is. Sadler said “Only the name will change at the resorts.” Tony Cortizas, chief marketing officer at Unique Vacations, said the names reflect each destination and make the resorts easier to find in online searches.
Neither report gave a date for the switch or said how existing bookings will be handled. Sandals Royal Barbados, Sandals Barbados and Beaches Turks & Caicos are not on the published list.

What it means for airline travelers
- Same resort, new name on paperwork. Confirmations, transfer vouchers and resort signs may start to show the new names. If you are going to Sandals Royal Caribbean, look for Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay. If you are going to Sandals Grande St. Lucian, look for Sandals St. Lucia Grand Bay.
- Existing bookings: Sandals has not said anything about changes to booked stays. The company says only the names are changing. If the name on your confirmation no longer matches the website, contact Sandals or your travel advisor.
- Search with both names for now. Booking sites and maps may show the old name, the new name or both for a while.
- No renovation or closure is involved. This is a name change only. Expect no construction disruption from it.
- Industry rates: The reports did not mention any change to travel-industry or airline-employee rate programs.
