November 2, 2026 — Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will redesign about 250 suites on its luxury ship Europa 2 during a drydock in Singapore from January 9 to 23, 2027. Sister ship Europa follows with its own yard stay in Bremerhaven, Germany, in the fall (year not given).

What’s changing

The line is keeping the ship’s design concept and refreshing colors, textures, lighting and furniture. The Grand Penthouse Suites were already redone two years ago. Hapag-Lloyd’s head of luxury cruises, Lisa Wilken, said the work is “less about transformation and more about refinement.”

Suite type Size New look
Veranda 28 m² Mint and soft coral replace beige
Penthouse 42 m² Mint and soft coral replace beige
Ocean 28 m² Blues and grays with warm brown accents, new upholstery
Grand Ocean 42 m² Blues and grays with warm brown accents, new upholstery
Owner Suites TBA New lighting, round dining tables, blue textile accents

What it means for airline travelers

  • Europa 2 is out of service January 9–23, 2027. If you are eyeing a sailing just before or after, confirm the exact embarkation date and port with the line before you plan flights.
  • The drydock is in Singapore, so check where the ship’s sailings around those dates begin and end. For any long-haul trip to join the ship, allow at least a day on arrival to recover and to absorb missed connections.
  • No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
