What it means for airline travelers

  • Getting there: Hyatt says Red Sea International Airport (RSI) has flights from Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, Milan and Dubai, with more routes coming. Most travelers from the Americas will need to connect through one of those cities. The release gives no transfer time from the airport to the hotel.
  • Expect a soft opening: only two food and drink outlets are open, and the other seven have no opening dates yet. If dining choice matters to you, wait a few months or ask the hotel what is open before you book.
  • Points: World of Hyatt members who book the “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer” rate earn 2X points per full US dollar spent on the room rate and eligible charges. The release does not say when the offer ends.
  • Industry rates: the opening release does not mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates. Check Hyatt’s employee or industry rate channels before you book.
  • Booking: reservations are open on hyatt.com.
