November 1, 2026 — One of St. Barth’s best-known resorts changed hands and names today. The former Rosewood Le Guanahani is now Airelles Le Guanahani, the French luxury collection’s first property in the Caribbean.
What is happening
Airelles took over the 17-acre (seven-hectare) resort on Saint-Barthélemy’s northeastern coast, and the new name took effect on November 1, 2026. Rosewood had run the property until a recent sale led to the change. The buyer and owning entity have not been named publicly. No renovation or closure has been announced, so the change is a rebrand of an operating resort.

- Rooms and suites set as individual cottages through the gardens, with private-pool categories including the Ocean Bay Pool Room, Garden Pool Suite, Ocean View Pool Suite and Beach Pool Suite. The Garden House and Bougainvillea Suite each sleep up to seven adults.
- Two beaches inside a protected nature reserve: the sheltered Grand Cul-de-Sac lagoon side for kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkeling, and the more open Maréchal Bay side.
- La Table du Guanahani overlooking the sea (buffet breakfast and lunch, Caribbean and international dinner menu), plus three bars: Le Pélican on the beach, the Pool Bar and The Library in the lobby. Airelles’ release says two restaurants; only La Table has been named so far.
- Airelles Spa with French skincare brand Laboratoires Botanique Avancée (LBA), a fitness room, a tennis court, a main infinity pool above the lagoon and a second, adults-only pool in the spa garden.
- Kids Club and Teens Club.
Caribbean Journal calls it “the newest Airelles Maison in the world.”
What it means for airline travelers
- It’s open now, under a new flag. There is no announced closure, so stays continue. If you booked under the Rosewood name, confirm your reservation directly with the resort, since rate plans and policies may have changed with the operator.
- Loyalty and benefits: none of the sources says how Rosewood-booked perks carry over or whether any program replaces them. Ask before you go if a benefit matters to you.
- Getting there: the sources do not list air access. St. Barth’s small airport handles short connecting flights, and many visitors connect through a larger nearby island. Check current schedules and allow buffer time on the connection, especially on standby.
- Industry or airline-employee rates: none were published. Airelles’ booking page is the place to ask.
- When to book: rates have not been released. With only 66 keys, peak holiday dates will go first.
