November 1, 2026 — Fairmont returns to New Orleans tomorrow. Fairmont New Orleans, a 250-room hotel in the former Bank of New Orleans tower in the Central Business District, takes its first guests on November 2, 2026, ending the brand’s two-decade absence from the city.

What is happening

Accor confirmed the November 2 opening on October 1 and has been taking reservations for stays from that night. The hotel fills 17 stories of the 31-story, 780,000-square-foot former bank headquarters at 1010 Common Street, a 1970 Skidmore, Owings & Merrill tower. Metairie-based Kailas Companies redeveloped the building, which also holds the 216-room Element New Orleans Downtown (Marriott) that opened in February. It is the 19th Fairmont in the U.S.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Bookable now: reservations are open on Fairmont’s website for stays from November 2. No opening offer has been announced. As at any brand-new hotel, expect a few first-week kinks and consider a refundable rate.
  • Points: stays earn and can be booked through ALL Accor.
  • Getting there: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY) is the city’s airport. The sources don’t give transfer details; the hotel is in the CBD, close to the French Quarter.
  • Busy-date warning: the hotel is near the Superdome, so big game and event weekends will fill rooms and flights. Check loads early if you plan to fly standby on those dates.
  • Industry or airline-employee rates: none were published.
