November 4, 2026 — Qatar Airways will again use six weekly London Heathrow slots taken over from Oman Air this winter, the third season in a row the two Gulf carriers have made the arrangement.

What happened
UK slot coordinator Airport Coordination Limited (ACL) recorded the transfer of three arrival-and-departure slot pairs from Oman Air (WY) to Qatar Airways on October 16, 2026, for the Winter 2026/27 season. Qatar first leased six weekly Oman Air slots in Winter 2025/26, which let it run up to 66 weekly Doha–Heathrow flights. The arrangement continued in Summer 2026.
The filing lists Oman Air’s WY103/104 times on a 787-9 (288 seats) and Qatar’s QR103/104 on a 777-300ER (354 seats) at Terminal 4. Aviation A2Z notes these are filing values, not a confirmed timetable. Oman Air had planned to grow its own Heathrow service to 14 weekly flights but did not go ahead.
| Period | Qatar Airways Doha–Heathrow flights |
|---|---|
| From Oct 25, 2026 to Feb 6, 2027 | 56 weekly |
| From Feb 7, 2027 | 49 weekly |
What it means for non-revs
- Qatar’s published Heathrow schedule falls from 56 to 49 weekly flights on February 7, 2027. If you are planning ZED or standby trips to London on Qatar late this winter, expect fewer departures to choose from.
- The larger 777-300ER on a slot that Oman Air used for a 787-9 adds seats on the Doha–London market. More seats usually mean better odds on off-peak days.
- If you use Oman Air for London pass travel, note that it has dropped plans to grow to 14 weekly Heathrow flights.
