October 4, 2026 — Nicko Cruises will carry health author and lecturer Awai Cheung on three Vasco da Gama voyages between October 2026 and January 2027, with free Tai Chi and Qigong classes for guests.
Cheung will lead group courses and workshops on traditional Chinese movement arts, Cruise Industry News reports. The group sessions are free. Fares for the cruises were not given.
The three voyages
| Dates | Route | Ports |
|---|---|---|
| October 19 – November 3, 2026 | North Cape, from Hamburg | Bergen, Geirangerfjord, Lofoten, Honningsvåg, Trondheim, Nordfjordeid, Stavanger, Arendal |
| December 12, 2026 – January 4, 2027 | Panama City to Santiago de Chile | Guayaquil and Puerto López (Ecuador); Callao, Paracas Bay and Matarani (Peru); Arica and San Antonio (Chile) |
| January 4 – 22, 2027 | Santiago de Chile to French Polynesia | Easter Island, Pitcairn Islands, Fakarava, Rangiroa, Raiatea, Tahiti (Papeete) |
The Pacific voyage includes a Christmas Day performance in Trujillo, Peru.
What it means for airline travelers
- Two of the three cruises are one-way. You need a flight into Panama City (PTY) and home from Santiago (SCL), or into Santiago and, on the South Seas voyage, home from French Polynesia. The report lists Papeete (PPT) as the last port; confirm the disembarkation port with the line.
- Papeete is a hard standby. Few airlines fly there and flights are not daily on every route. Check frequencies before you book, and allow extra days at the end.
- The Santiago stop is listed as Puerto San Antonio, which is on the coast, not in the city. Allow time for the transfer to or from Santiago’s airport.
- Hamburg (HAM) has limited long-haul service, so most North American travelers will connect through a European hub. Arrive a day early.
- Interline rates: The report does not mention travel-industry rates.
