October 4, 2026 — Casa Nizuc, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, is now set to open in Cancun on December 8, 2026, Caribbean Journal reports. The Marriott resort had been aiming for a September debut.
The resort is in Aldea Nizuc, a gated community at kilometer 23.5 of the Cancun Hotel Zone, on the lagoon side. Marriott lists the address as Boulevard Kukulkan Km 23+200. It sits between the Caribbean shoreline and the mangroves at the quieter southern end of the strip.
Casa Nizuc is not all-inclusive. It is a full-service resort that takes part in Marriott Bonvoy. Caribbean Journal’s rate check found rooms from “$184 per night” for the opening period.
What is on site
- 235 guest rooms, per Caribbean Journal’s earlier report on the resort
- Four restaurants and four bars. The March report named Mayim (all-day international), Âshân (steakhouse), Zait (Mediterranean) and Noam (café)
- A rooftop pool and lounge with lagoon views
- A main pool with a swim-up bar, a children’s pool with water slides, a whirlpool and cabanas
- A wellness center, fitness center and meeting space

What it means for airline travelers
- Close to the airport. Caribbean Journal put the resort about eight minutes from Cancun International (CUN). That is useful for standby travelers who may need to get back to the terminal fast.
- Treat December 8 as a target. The date has already slipped from September, and Marriott’s own Mexico update two days ago still said November. Book a rate you can cancel for any stay in the first weeks.
- Budget for meals. This is a pay-as-you-go resort in a market full of all-inclusives. The low room rate does not include food and drinks.
- Bonvoy applies. Stays earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points. Marriott’s page lists free Wi-Fi for members and complimentary parking.
- Travel-industry rates: none have been published for this resort.
