October 6, 2026 — The Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook, outside Birmingham, Alabama, is now Hotel Wildemont. It remains in Marriott’s Autograph Collection, and it did not close for the change.
Hoodline reports the new name took effect on October 1, 2026. The hotel’s announcement ran in the trade press on October 5.
The 99-room hotel opened in October 2015 as a Kessler Collection property. Its owner, Xenia Hotels & Resorts, has moved management to Pivot, the lifestyle arm of Davidson Hospitality Group. Hoodline says the move is part of a four-hotel overhaul, which also turned the Grand Bohemian Orlando into Hotel Beauden in September. NonRev Travel News reported on October 4 that Charleston’s Grand Bohemian became Hotel Operis.
The name joins “wild,” for the tree canopy around the hotel, with “mont,” for mountain. General manager Tiffiany Holmes said “the heart of the experience remains unchanged.”
What is new
- Habitat Feed & Social, the rooftop restaurant, now roasts whole fish and chicken daily. A “Whole Beast Feast” for groups runs Thursday to Sunday and needs 48 hours’ notice.
- Cocktail Lab, a 90-minute hands-on drinks class.
- Gallery Experience Lounge, with painting workshops, trivia nights and ticketed events.
The cooking school, spa, outdoor pool, wine-blending sessions and 14,000 square feet of event space all continue.

What it means for airline travelers
- Existing bookings carry over. The hotel kept operating through the change. If your confirmation says Grand Bohemian, it is the same building at the same address.
- Still a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. The Autograph Collection flag stays, and the hotel’s own site carries the Bonvoy logo.
- Not cheap. Hoodline puts rooms at more than $400 a night and says the hotel sold out for the Antiques at the Gardens weekend.
- Getting there: Mountain Brook is a suburb of Birmingham, next to the Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Birmingham’s airport is the nearest commercial field.
- Industry rates: none were published.
