October 8, 2026 — Expedition operator Adventure Canada has expanded its 2028 lineup with new voyages in the Canadian Arctic, Iceland and Antarctica, including a 13-day route into the eastern end of the Northwest Passage.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Arctic voyages usually begin or end with a charter flight. Resolute, where the new Northwest Passage route ends, has no mainline airline service. Operators typically sell a charter to or from a southern Canadian city, so ask Adventure Canada which city it uses and what the charter costs before you plan your standby flights.
  • Leave buffer days around charters. Arctic weather delays are common. Do not list for a same-day connection after a charter arrives.
  • Iceland is the easy one. The round trip from Reykjavík needs only flights to and from Keflavík (KEF), which has frequent North American service in summer.
  • Ushuaia takes planning. Antarctic departures from Ushuaia (USH) require a connection through Buenos Aires, often with a change of airport. Arrive two days early.
  • Industry rates: none were announced. Small expedition operators sometimes release unsold berths close to departure, so ask directly.
