October 23, 2026 — River cruise company Thurgau Travel is adding two new ships: Thurgau Avanti in May 2027 and the hybrid Thurgau Arva in summer 2028.
What happened
| Ship | Debut | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Thurgau Avanti | May 2027 | Five-star, 135 m long; 82 cabins, 4 junior suites and 4 suites; three restaurants and a private dining room; about CHF 29 million; hull built in Romania and completed at TeamCo in Heusden, Netherlands; aiming for Green Award Gold. Replaces Antonio Bellucci, which retires after spring 2027. |
| Thurgau Arva | Summer 2028 | About 190 guests; named for the Swiss stone pine, with warm wood and natural materials; hybrid propulsion with battery storage for maneuvering |
