October 23, 2026 — VidantaWorld Voyages has finished the first European season of its ship Elegant and is laying the ship up for the winter. Mediterranean sailings resume in April 2027.
What happened
Elegant was built in 1990 and once sailed for All Leisure Group. It has been refitted to carry 216 guests instead of 600. The season began in April 2026. The last sailing was a one-way cruise from Santander, Spain, calling at Bordeaux, Saint-Malo and Rouen, and ended in Honfleur, France, on October 9, 2026.
| Period | Plan |
|---|---|
| Winter 2026–27 | No commercial sailings; “warm layup” on a river in northern France; available for charters and special events |
| April–October 2027 | Mediterranean: Italy, Spain, France, Croatia and Montenegro, plus Saint-Tropez, Monte Carlo and Cannes |
| August 2027 | 7-night Greece cruise between Kalamata and Chania, timed for a total solar eclipse (exact dates TBA) |
Embarkation ports for 2027 are TBA in the report.
What it means for airline travelers
- The eclipse cruise sails in peak summer season. Check flights into Kalamata and home from Chania early.
- Some sailings are one-way, like the season finale. Price open-jaw flights (into one city, home from another) before you commit.
- The report does not mention any travel-industry or interline rates.
