October 27, 2026 — China’s Adora Cruises says its third ship, Adora Flora City, begins sailing from Guangzhou in November and will move to Hong Kong in 2027, as the line focuses on southern China’s Greater Bay Area.

What’s new

In an interview with Cruise Industry News, Adora CEO Roger Chen set out the line’s plans:

  • Adora Flora City is a larger sister of Adora Magic City, lengthened by 17 meters to add public space and new suites for multigenerational families. It begins paid sailings from Guangzhou in November 2026 (exact date TBA in the report).
  • Its first season includes four- and five-night cruises to Hong Kong and Vietnam and a 16-night “Maritime Silk Road Discovery” voyage to six Southeast Asian countries.
  • The ship’s homeport moves to Hong Kong from the second quarter of 2027, and the line plans more homeport operations in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
  • Adora Magic City has added Shanghai departures on December 11, 18 and 25, 2026, after a two-night cruise to nowhere in June drew strong demand.
  • Adora has three new large ships on order, the first due in 2030.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Hong Kong (HKG) is a major long-haul hub, so the 2027 move to Hong Kong will make Adora Flora City much easier to reach for travelers from outside China than a Guangzhou start. Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN) also has international service.
  • Check visa and entry requirements for mainland China before booking a Guangzhou departure; rules differ from those for Hong Kong.
  • Most Adora sales go through travel agencies, with direct booking mainly through Chinese platforms; no travel-industry or interline rate information was mentioned.
