October 30, 2026 — Shanghai Disney Resort has set a firm opening date for its third hotel. The Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel will welcome its first guests on December 16, 2026, and reservations for a first group of room types open on November 6, 2026.
What is happening
The new hotel is a nine-story, 400-room premium property built next to the existing Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, with views over Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Lake. With 400 rooms it will be the resort’s smallest hotel. Its design draws on early 20th-century Shanghai and Art Nouveau architecture, and a dedicated connector links it to the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel next door.
When booking opens, four room categories will be available: the Enchanted Star Deluxe Room, the Enchanted Star Deluxe Room (Park View), the Enchanted Star Dream Room and the Enchanted Star Club Room. Shanghai Disney Resort says more room types will be released closer to opening. Bookings will be taken through the Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center, the resort’s official channels and authorized travel partners. Room rates have not been published.

What it means for airline travelers
- Airports: Shanghai has two airports, Shanghai Pudong International (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao International (SHA). Check current schedules from your gateway to both before you plan.
- Book early if you want the opening: only select room types go on sale November 6, so the first weeks, including the run-up to Christmas and New Year, may fill quickly.
- Holiday-season flights: a mid-December opening falls in a busy travel period, so if you are flying standby, build in an extra day on the way in and keep backup flights in mind for both PVG and SHA.
- Pool season: the outdoor pool is subject to the weather, so check before counting on it for a winter stay; the indoor pool is the fallback.
- Rates: no travel-industry or airline-employee rate was mentioned in the announcement.
