November 6, 2026 — Club Med has opened reservations for Club Med St. Croix, its new all-inclusive resort on the former Carambola Beach Resort site in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The first guests are due on November 12, 2027, a year from now.
What is happening
Caribbean Journal reported late on November 5, 2026 that bookings are now open for Club Med St. Croix, which will join the company’s Exclusive Collection as its second property in North America. The resort is a rebuild of Carambola, which Laurance Rockefeller developed in 1986 on Davis Bay, on the island’s northwest coast. The scheduled opening day is November 12, 2027.
All 150 suites will face the ocean, either sea-front or sea-view. Caribbean Mag lists a 484 sq ft standard suite for two, a 484 sq ft Family Suite with a living area for three, and Interconnecting Family Suites of 969 sq ft with two bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to six. The resort is for guests aged 12 and over, so it is aimed at couples, groups of adults and families with teenagers.

Prices and booking terms
Caribbean Mag reports early-booking rates from $365 per person per night, though Club Med has not said which suite or travel weeks that price applies to. Its report says the flexible rate can be cancelled without charge 61 or more days before departure (91 days for holiday weeks), apart from the membership fee, and that Club Med’s Hurricane Protection Program gives a future travel certificate rather than cash.
What it means for airline travelers
- Getting there: the resort is about 25 minutes from St. Croix’s Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX). Caribbean Mag lists nonstop flights on American from Miami and Charlotte, seasonal Delta service from Atlanta, and a Saturday United flight from Newark that started on October 31, 2026. Check that these routes are still running for your dates closer to the time.
- No passport needed from the U.S.: St. Croix is a U.S. territory, so U.S. citizens flying directly from the mainland do not need a passport.
- Book the room, wait on the flight: most U.S. airlines put flights on sale about 11 months ahead, so mid-November 2027 flights should appear around mid-December 2026. There is no rush to commit to air before then.
- You are booking a year out: the resort is still being rebuilt, so the opening date could move. A flexible, cancellable rate is the safer choice for now.
- Families: children under 12 cannot stay here, so plan elsewhere if you are traveling with younger kids.
- Discount rates: neither report mentions travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
