October 9, 2026 — The Rimrock in Banff has reopened as Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection. It is the first hotel in North America for Accor’s Emblems Collection and the second in the world, after Lucknam Park in England.
Accor announced the opening on October 7 and gave no exact reopening day beyond October 2026. Trade site TravelDailyNews puts the cost of the overhaul at CAD 115 million; Accor has not confirmed a figure. The hotel is owned by Oxford Properties Group and a capital partner.
The hotel stands above the town of Banff, inside Banff National Park. It has 320 rooms, including 57 suites.

What is new
- The Bathhouse: a 9,600-square-foot hydrothermal spa with indoor and outdoor thermal pools, saunas and cold plunges.
- Active Centre: a 3,800-square-foot fitness space.
- Expeditions Centre: more than 50 seasonal outdoor activities.
- Dining: four venues — Parker’s Table, Rimrock Social, The Listening Room and Rimrock Market.
- Top suite: the Infinity Two-Bedroom Suite, with a terrace of more than 1,260 square feet and a barrel sauna.
What it means for airline travelers
- Calgary (YYC) is the airport. The hotel’s own location page puts it 90 miles (145 km) away, about 95 minutes by car. It recommends the Banff Airporter shuttle if you are not renting a car.
- The work is done. Sources describe the transformation as complete, so you should not expect construction during a stay.
- It is an Accor hotel. Emblems Collection is an Accor brand. Check the ALL Accor programme for points and status terms before you book.
- Expect luxury pricing. No rates were published with the announcement.
- Industry rates: none of the sources mention airline-employee or travel-industry pricing.
