October 20, 2026 — With the Alaska season over, Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are now sailing from San Diego. The Wonder stays there through late April 2027, while the Magic leaves in early November on a 14-night Panama Canal cruise to Galveston. Parent company: The Walt Disney Company.

Fall and winter from San Diego

Ship Season Cruises and ports
Disney Magic San Diego through early November 2026 (exact date TBA), then a 14-night Panama Canal cruise to Galveston 3- to 7-night Mexican Riviera and Baja cruises: Catalina Island, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta
Disney Wonder San Diego through late April 2027 Short Baja cruises and 6- and 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises: Catalina, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán

Looking back and ahead

Each ship sailed 15 roundtrip Alaska cruises from Vancouver between May and late September 2026, calling at Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan and Skagway, with scenic cruising at Dawes Glacier and the Inside Passage. It was the Disney Magic’s first Alaska season. The Disney Wonder had a dry dock at Esquimalt in Victoria during the season. Both ships return to Alaska from Vancouver between May and September 2027.

What it means for airline travelers

  • San Diego International (SAN) is only a few miles from the cruise terminal; Los Angeles (LAX) is a backup about two hours away by road.
  • Mexican Riviera cruises mean leaving and re-entering the U.S.; carry the travel documents Disney requires for your sailing.
  • Disney Magic’s Panama Canal cruise starts in San Diego and ends in Galveston, so plan one-way flights. Houston Hobby (HOU) and Bush Intercontinental (IAH) serve Galveston; allow time for the drive before booking or listing for a flight home.
  • Fly in the day before sailing, especially if you are flying standby during school holidays, when flights to San Diego fill up.
  • No travel-industry or interline rate changes were mentioned.
