October 24, 2026 — Costa Cruises (Carnival Corporation) has taken Costa Favolosa out of service for drydock at Damen in Rotterdam, Netherlands, after a summer in Northern Europe. The ship arrived on October 20, and guests return in early November.
The work
Costa says the work is routine maintenance and technical work. Full details were not released, but hotel areas are expected to get new soft furnishings, carpet and upholstery.

| When | What |
|---|---|
| November 8, 2026 | 22-night repositioning from Hamburg, Germany, calling in England, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Spain and the Canary Islands, then Guadeloupe, Antigua and St. Kitts, ending in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic |
| Winter 2026–27 | 7-night Caribbean cruises with embarkation in the Dominican Republic, Martinique and Guadeloupe |

What it means for airline travelers
- The November 8 crossing is one-way: fly into Hamburg (HAM) and home from Santo Domingo (SDQ). Plan the two legs separately.
- This winter you can board in Martinique (FDF) or Guadeloupe (PTP) as well as the Dominican Republic. Flights to the French islands are fewer, so plan an early arrival if you are flying standby.
- No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
