October 24, 2026 — Holland America Line (Carnival Corporation) has launched Alaska Heritage Tours for next summer, its 80th season in Alaska. The line says many of the top Alaska experiences are “the very same ones that first inspired visitors decades ago.”
The tours
- McKinley Explorer Railroad — glass-dome train through Alaska’s interior.
- White Pass Summit Scenic Railroad — the Klondike Gold Rush route above Skagway.
- Mendenhall Glacier Explorer — from Juneau.
- Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise — tidewater glaciers and marine wildlife.
- Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour — into Denali National Park.
They can be booked on select 2027 Alaska cruises and Cruisetours, including Alaska Cruisetours, Alaska Explorer, Inside Passage, the 28-Day Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle and Glacier Discovery itineraries. Ships, sailing dates and prices: TBA.
What it means for airline travelers
- The rail and Denali tours are usually part of land-and-sea Cruisetours, which often start or end inland. Check whether yours ends in Anchorage (ANC) or Fairbanks (FAI) before you plan your flight home.
- Summer flights to Alaska fill up fast. If you are flying standby, arrive a day early, and allow extra time after a Cruisetour for the trip home.
- No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
