October 28, 2026 — BWH Hotels, the parent of Best Western, is putting its whole portfolio of more than 4,000 hotels and 18 brands under one masterbrand, WorldHotels, and merging Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards into a single program that launches in January 2027.
What is happening
The company announced the change on October 27 and launched a new WorldHotels website the same day. Individual hotel brands such as Best Western, SureStay and Aiden keep their names and signage. The company’s upscale and luxury hotels are grouped as the WorldHotels Collection in six categories: Luxury, Elite, Distinctive, Crafted, Backdrop and Residences. Upgraded Points reports that the Sadie brand is being retired and Vīb hotels are moving to Aiden.
Chief executive Larry Cuculic told LODGING the masterbrand gives the company “a clearer way to tell our story.”

What changes and what stays
- The combined program covers roughly 70 million members.
- Best Western’s five elite tiers (Blue, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Diamond Select) shrink to three. How old tiers map to new ones has not been announced.
- The company says points will not expire, existing point value is preserved, and status matching, member rates and Pay with Points carry over.
- Partner earning and redemption arrangements are unchanged, and members keep current status during the transition.
What it means for airline travelers
- No need to rush redemptions: The company says point value is preserved, so keep earning and booking as usual for now.
- Watch two dates: November 16 for earning and redemption rules, and December 14 for your new tier. Elite members should read both before planning 2027 stays.
- Airline partners: Partner earning arrangements are reported as unchanged; check your preferred airline’s hotel-partner page after the January launch to confirm.
- Industry rates: Neither report said anything about travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
