The biggest US route news of the past 24 hours comes from Ohio: Lufthansa will fly Columbus (CMH) to Frankfurt (FRA) three times a week from May 2027 on a Boeing 787 with its Allegris cabins. A Lufthansa Group sales executive called it “the first intercontinental flight from this great city.” Also new: Flair Airlines adds a summer 2027 seasonal between Edmonton and Saint John, Viva connects San Luis Potosí and Ciudad Juárez via Monterrey from November 1, and Beijing Capital Airlines plans a weekly Lijiang–Singapore flight from November 20. We could not confirm any route discontinuations announced in the past 24 hours.

New Routes

Airline Route Starts Frequency Aircraft
Lufthansa Columbus (CMH) – Frankfurt (FRA) May 2027 (exact date TBA) 3x weekly (Wed, Fri, Sun) Boeing 787 (Allegris)
Flair Airlines Edmonton (YEG) – Saint John (YSJ) June 15, 2027 2x weekly, seasonal (through Sept 7, 2027) Boeing 737-800
Viva San Luis Potosí (SLP) – Monterrey (MTY) – Ciudad Juárez (CJS) November 1, 2026 3x weekly (Tue, Thu, Sun) TBA
Beijing Capital Airlines Lijiang (LJG) – Singapore (SIN) November 20, 2026 1x weekly Airbus A320

Lufthansa: Columbus (CMH) – Frankfurt (FRA)

Lufthansa announced the route at John Glenn Columbus International Airport on October 19 and billed it as the city’s first intercontinental flight. Flights operate Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaving Columbus at 4:20 p.m. and reaching Frankfurt at 6:15 a.m. the next morning. The 787 is fitted with Lufthansa’s Allegris cabins in a 287-seat layout: 28 lie-flat business, 28 premium economy and 231 economy seats.
